Al Tawi Desert

Al Tawi is located in the south of RAK at the border with Umm Al Qwain and E311.

This stretch of desert is an ideal place to start driving in the sand. There are easy, rolling trails, but also some beautiful dunes to cross without taking too many risks.

Amazing spots for sunrise or sunset photography.

As always, you need to be careful and assess your limits before going anywhere.

Here you will find a lot of vegetation and many camels. Be careful and protect nature.

Take a rubbish bag with you, fill it up and dispose of the rubbish in a bin as you leave.

You can enter Al Tawi from a number of different directions, the easiest of which is either from the north (GPS 1) or from the E311 (GPS 2).

Beware, there are countless trails going in all directions - it's a real maze. Watch your route so that you can find the return path.

If you're lost, head due "east" and you'll inevitably come across the E311.

In this area the GSM coverage is pretty good.

Difficulty :
2/5, in some areas could be more difficult due to soft sand (max 4/5)
