Wahiba Sand Crossing

In the south of Nizwa to the Oman sea, there is a beautiful desert : Wahiba Sand

Remember to stock up on water, food and fuel before you set off into the dunes of the Wahiba Desert.

At first the trail is very wide and rolling. We cross a few more technical dunes that require some serious deflation of the tyres... But it goes quite well and smoothly. We make fairly rapid progress through the desert, surrounded by two large dune chains. The colours at the end of the day are glowing, it's amazing.

By the time we had found a nice spot to camp, we were ready to prepare the evening meal, just after taking a good shower!

The wind suddenly stops at around 9pm and the clear skies give us a superb starry sky.

Early in the morning, a damp mist covered the ground, but with the arrival of the sun's rays, it quickly disappeared.

We can set off again, heading due south towards the sea.

There is no GSM coverage in the Wahiba Sand Desert
