Jebel Akhdar Roses 

In March and April, the Jebel Akdhar is covered in roses and it's harvest time. 

The flowers are picked by hand and transported every morning to the many small family farms that produce rose water and essential oil. 

This is one of the most beautiful attractions not to be missed. 

Strolling along the fragrant rose gardens and enjoying the pleasant spring temperatures will be a wonderful memory.

The Saiq plateau is home to the majority of rose growers. 

To get there from Nizwa (there is only 1 road), you'll need a 4x4 or SUV with low gears.
Otherwise, you will be turned away by the police at the Birkat Al Mouz checkpoint.
