Fossil Dunes

Nature can be surprising, and Abu Dhabi is no exception.

This site offer something quite exceptional: fossilised dunes dating back 4 million years.

By a miracle of nature, a desert plain has become the guardian of solidified dunes; no one knows why.

Carved out by the sandy winds, these natural sculptures marvel at their sandy, ochre and beige hues, which blend so well with the blue of the sky.

Fortunately, the site is under the protection of the Ministry of the Environment.

Some coffee shops ar open on the evening; large parking (no entrance fees)
