Al Tawi Desert (short)

Small drive this some big dunes to test your offroad skills;
only for 4x4 (no SUV)
Desert Entry is easy to find : from Marjan Island, go back to Ras Al Khaimah, and turn right just before "Al Jazirah Aviation Club". When you arrive at the level of the first bulding on your left side, turn right and follow the trail.

Be carful some time could be very wet, avoid flooded area

When you find the first dune, before you will be stuck in the sand, deflate your tyres. 

Time required : about 1 hour (6km) one way

Al Wadi Desert Discover

Great drive with dunes climbing, soft sand spots, picinc spot under the trees and much more. Amazing view.

Desert Entry is easy to find : Take Al Shukuah Road and exit at the Al Wadi Desert Ritz Carlton Resort. Just before the hotel entry gate, take on the left. After 300m, you have to climb on the dune on your left side... good luck, it's the first test; if you pass it you can move on.

When you find the first dune, before you will be stuck in the sand, deflate your tyres. 

Time required : about 3 hours (45km)

Wadi Al Asimah and Sidr 

This is an easy drive on well marked trail, there is a lot of stones on the way.

From E18, take the exit Al Ghail to accès at the wadi Asimah. You will leaded by a long canyon between huges montains. Very nice drive, some villages crossing, and beautiful route if you like stones and heights.

Time required : about 2 hours (50km)

Al Wadi Desert (south 1)

The south part of al Wadi Desert is a succession of big and small dunes
From E611 (toward Dubai), take the exit Al Aqran (95) to find the trail.
You will cross a large plateau with a lot of camels before finding the dunes.
Very nice drive, need good driving skills and maybe a recovery sandplate !
Exit will be near Ritz-Carlton Resort Gate

Time required : about 3 hours (55km) one way

Al Wadi Desert (south 2)

The south part of al Wadi Desert is a succession of big and small dunes
From E611 (toward Dubai), take the exit Al Aqran (95) to find the track.
You will cross a large plateau with a lot of camels before finding the dunes.
Very nice drive, need good driving skills and recovery sandplates !

Exit will be at Al Sa'adi Village 

Time required : about 1.5 hours (15km) one way

Al Tawi Desert (long)

Nice drive in the small dunes with some more difficult spots. Lot of great places for picnic of coffee break. Expect to see also camels.
Don't worry, there are tracks everywhere, but follow the route indicated and choose the trail that suits you best. 


Desert Entry is easy to find : (see Al Tawi Desert Short above) continue straight on until you reach the entrance of the industrial zone, then turn right at the car park, skirting the building.

When you find the first dune (after crossing the truck track), and before you will be stuck in the sand, deflate your tyres. 

Time required : about 2 hours (60km)

Al Wayayah Desert

Nice drive in dunes with some difficult spots. Lot of great places for picnic of coffee break. Expect to see also a lot of people on the weekend.

For desert entry use exit 113 of the E311 toward to Ras Al Khaimah
You can either head north to the Khalifa Hospital or head east and exit onto the E611 towards Dubai. Make sure you take the right passageways to cross the fences.

Very nice drive, need good driving skills and maybe a recovery sandplate !

Wadi Sena

A beautiful ride on a well-marked track with no difficulties. The track winds its way through the mountains, offering plenty of vantage points for superb photos. 

From Ras Al Khaimah, take the road towards Dibba, and follow the GPS points and the directions on the map.

Allow no more than an hour for this journey. You can also take an SUV.

Liwa Crossing
west to east
(Rub Al Khali)

A breathtaking experience, but the route is very very difficult and reserved for experts.

From Liwa, take the road E90 towards west, and follow the GPS points and the directions on the map.

For this route you will need at least 2 days (full)
