Offroad trip in Saudi Arabia

Saudi Arabia is the land of milk and honey for off-road enthusiasts. The scenery is breathtaking and the country offers an incredible variety of activities. Whether it's mountain tracks, wide stretches of sand or countless wadis, there's something for everyone.

Here are a few extracts from our 20-day trip, we can't show you all our routes, there are too many! But if you're interested in some of them, don't hesitate to contact us and we'll be happy to send you the .klm files or waypoints you need.

A few words about the country; first of all, Saudi Arabia is a safe country where travellers are very well received by the local population. Saudis are open, deeply kind and curious. It's very easy to make contacts and talk to them. In the big cities, everyone speaks a little English, but when venturing off the beaten track, a few notions of Arabic are very useful.

Contrary to popular belief, women are not obliged to wear the hijab or even the veil. My wife had no trouble at all without a veil, not even a reproving glance or a comment during our entire trip. You just have to remember that you're in a Muslim country, so you have to dress appropriately. This applies to both men and women.

We were delighted with our trip and we'll definitely be going back to discover other parts of this magnificent country.
